Enveda secures $311M to bring more nature-derived AI drugs into clinical trials
Enveda has raised $311 million at a $2 billion valuation to push more AI-discovered, nature-derived drug candidates into clinical trials. For AI drug developers, the financing is a reminder that the hardest and most capital-intensive step is not generating candidates, but validating them in humans. The biotech is already testing treatments for skin conditions and a therapy intended to preserve weight loss after patients stop taking GLP-1 drugs. That second program targets a growing clinical gap as GLP-1 use expands: many patients regain weight after discontinuation. Enveda's next test will be whether its AI-led approach to mining natural compounds can produce differentiated medicines, not just promising preclinical results.
