Nvidia to buy developer platform Hugging Face in $12.9bn deal

Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.93 billion (£9.57 billion), according to The Guardian. The deal would give Nvidia control of a widely used platform for discovering, sharing and deploying open AI models, extending its reach beyond GPUs and deeper into the software workflows developers use to build AI products. For builders, the main question is whether Hugging Face remains hardware-neutral and open to competing infrastructure after the acquisition.
